Konvens 2006

The "Konferenz zur Verarbeitung natürlicher Sprache" (KONVENS) has taken place every two years since 1992. Hosting organizations are the DEGA, DGfS, GI, GLDV, ITG and ÖGAI. KONVENS is a forum for the presentation of work within automatic speech and language processing.

2006 features the eighth KONVENS. The hosting organization this year is the Computational Linguistics Section of the DGfS (German Linguistics Society). The local organizer is Miriam Butt at the Department of Linguistics of the University of Konstanz. Subjects suitable for presentation at the conference encompass all the fields of natural language processing (written as well as spoken).

The goal of the conference is to offer a broad perspective on current research within the field of language processing. This includes work from disciplines like computational linguistics, language technology, cognitive psychology, computer science, acoustics and information processing. Contributions to the conference should describe unpublished research and development results or innovative application.

Younger researchers in particular are especially encouraged to present their work.

The languages of the conference are English and German. Accepted papers will be published (possibly on-line).
