Research

I am a postdoctoral fellow in the Linguistics department at the University of Konstanz. I am part of a project studying the grammatical composition and pragmatics of conditional sentences. We are part of the "What if?" research group, an interdisciplinary group comprised of Linguists, Philosophers, Historians, and Literary Critics.

My research currently has three branches. As a linguist, I work on the compositional semantics and formal pragmatics of conditionals. As a philosopher, I develop the explanatory power of teleosemantics as applied to natural languages. Finally, I work with developmental psychologists tracking changes in counterfactual reasoning throughout development and the interaction between the development of counterfactual reasoning and other perspective taking tasks.
