Cognitive neuroscience of language:

  • Auditory phonetics, Neurophonology and studies on morphophonological processing
  • Functional organisation of the auditory cortex and cortical language areas with focus on the mental lexicon
  • Approaches: Online processing in monolingual normal subjects; cross-linguistic studies; studies of bilingual subjects; disturbances in languages processing

Methods for the description of cognitive processes:

  • spatial-temporal characteristics of language processing using Electro- and Magnetoencephalography (EEG, MEG) including behavioural tasks and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI)
  • methods for the description of cognitive processes: event-related brain activity; topographical and source analyses; oscillatory brain dynamics using frequency-domain analyses
