Welcome to the web page of the former Writing Centre of the Department of Linguistics, on which you find a collection of material on academic writing in linguistics. While we cannot provide you with personal, discipline-specific advice on writing academic texts anymore, the Writing Centre of the University of Konstanz offers cross-disciplinary workshops and personal consultations on more general matters, e.g. different styles of writing, the writing process, overcoming writer's block etc., but also on specific problems in all areas from finding a topic, finding literature, and reciting literature, over academic articulation, formal features of academic texts, and the leap from a topic to (the outline of) your work, to the functions and core components of essential text parts like introduction and conclusion.
