ased on a study of the behavior of presentational/existential sentences in Icelandic and Swedish, the presentation will address the following three questions:
— How configurational are Scandinavian languages?
— Which factors influence subjectlike behavior in arguments?
— Why do ‘thematic roles’ play a role in constraints on information-structure motivated constructions like the presentational one?
