Variation in the Morphophonological Lexicon:
Prosodic and Segmental Patterns

Project Abstract

The central goal is to understand the lexical tonal system of Scandinavian and all related morphophonological repercussions. Our aim is to provide a coherent synchronic system for dialects of Swedish and Norwegian, and a diachronic scenario that enables us to understand, on the one hand, how the tonal system developed, and on the other, how loans are absorbed into the tonal system of the language.
